A mirage is an optical phenomenon that produces a visual illusion. It creates a false image at the observer's location, which is determined by the interpretive faculties of the viewer.
The video "Mirage" is a cinematic collage assembled from videos and stills taken over several years, mainly in the U.S.
The sound segments were taken from David Perlov’s films. Perlov is considered the founder of Israeli documentary cinema. His film essays are well recognized by his voice-over. The work was created by editing Perlov’s voice into a new monologue, while using his authority in order to investigate fundamental themes and questions regarding the medium of photography nowadays.
